When you think of someone who brings both experience and warmth to the Lánluas team, look no further than Adam Nichles, Practice Lead for Supported Application Services. With two decades of experience working with TechnologyOne systems, Adam has built a career defined by technical expertise, client focus, and a genuine passion for helping others succeed.

Adam’s career began in 2005 with a decade working at TechnologyOne, where he specialised in Enterprise Asset Management. Whilst undertaking a leadership role managing a team of support specialists at Griffith University, a conversation with John Speed, founder of Lánluas, inspired his next big move.

I’d been commuting from the Gold Coast to Brisbane for years. When John and I spoke about the opportunity at Lánluas, the ability to work from home and spend more time with my young family was a huge drawcard. It just made sense.

As Practice Lead for Supported Application Services, Adam oversees a service that supports clients with their TechnologyOne environments, whether they have no internal support team, need more help, or are running an unsupported version of the software.

Our clients are all at different stages of their TechnologyOne lifecycle. Some need us to take on everything, others just need an extra pair of hands. What makes us different is consistency. Our clients deal with the same consultant from day one. That relationship builds trust, and that’s where real value comes from.

Adam is clear that Lánluas works alongside TechnologyOne rather than competing. “We complement them,” he says. “Our focus is on filling gaps where needed, providing continuity, and ensuring clients always have access to people who deeply understand their environment.”

When asked what advice he’d give someone considering a consulting role, Adam’s response reflects his approachable, grounded nature:

If you’re nervous about client-facing work, don’t be. Remember, you’re just dealing with another human being, and they’re probably just as nervous. Start there with empathy and everything else follows.

Outside of work, Adam’s fun-loving side shines through. He’s a big fan of costume parties, especially 80s themes and murder mysteries, and if he could host the ultimate dinner party, his guest list would be an all-star lineup including: Jon Bon Jovi, Elton John, Billy Joel, and Michael Jackson.
